Kathleen Meara is from Fort Scott, which is just east of Uniontown, where this project started. She is a sophomore in college and for over 14 months she played the role of Irena Sendler, all over the United States. When she first heard of this project she was just excited about the opportunities that it offered. She says, "now that I have gotten to know Megan, Elizabeth, and the others, I realize that I'm just lucky to be a part of the project. Irena Sendler is someone to be admired. She put a whole new perspective on my life. Her story needs to be told throughout the world, and that's why I'm honored to be a part of trying to make that happen." Kathleen is 24 years old and works in Kansas City.

Bozenna Gilbride has influenced the Irena Sendler story and Life in a Jar. Her influence in so many areas has helped make Irena's story known to the world. She produced two films on ZEGOTA in the early 1990's and had Irena on video for the first time. Bozenna is the one who arranged the first major newspaper story in Poland of the Life in a Jar students visiting Warsaw. This story would start a chain of events which would cause Irena to be known to the world. Bozenna has been a major friend to the students and teacher, constantly sending materials to increase their learning and sharing life with them.
